Core subjects:

At New Generation International Schools, students study English, Math, Science, Social Studies and French. The skills and habits of mind they acquire in the process shape the lives they will lead after they leave high school. Their core subjects’ course of study requires them to question assumptions and engage in self-reflection. Moreover, students learn to think critically and analytically as well as communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

All core classes prepare students to connect to life beyond the school and help them understand the complexities of the world and their role in it.

Core classes provide opportunities for students to be engaged in their learning. Students take ownership for their work by working in cooperative learning groups and applying what they learn on real life situations.

At all levels, the English curriculum at NG is centered on the study of literature and English language mechanics. Our focus is not only about acquiring a discrete skill, but it is more of a means to engage in fundamental ideas regarding what it means to be human.

We study literature as a means of questioning our deepest held beliefs, whilst also being subjected to situations and states of mind we are yet to encounter. The study of English leads us into diverse areas. Philosophy, history, other languages, religion, and social sciences all have a part to play in the study of English.

Preparing our students for prestigious universities is an essential target for our department; hence, a variety of Standardized tests such as: SAT, IELTS and TOEFL are well taken care of in our school. 10th & 11th Graders get free courses in both SAT, TOEFL, and IELTS till they surpass the required score needed for the best universities around the world. Senior students are given a unique university preparation course that enables all levels of skills to evolve in order to be prominent students in most prestigious universities either domestically or internationally.

Math helps students to think critically about complex issues, analyze and adapt to new situations, solve problems of various kinds, and think effectively. The math curriculum that we study equips students with knowledge, skills, and habits of mind that are essential for successful participation in problem-solving and utilizing that to real life situations.

Science at New Generation connects students’ lives to what they learn. Science standards emphasize deep understanding rather than shallow knowledge. Students learn best when they are actively engaged in solving meaningful problems, thinking critically, and doing lab work; that is why at NG,
students apply critical thinking skills and take ownership for their work by determining materials, procedures, topics and questions they want to investigate.

Social Studies helps students understand human interactions that occurred, are occurring, and are likely to occur in the future.
To know the present and the future, one must know the past and relate to it. Hence at NG, students study History, Geography, Civics, Sociology, and Economics to enable them to develop the proper behavior, and learn why those values matter now, in addition to their importance in the future.

As a school, NG is aware of the necessity to skillfully communicate in a second language.
Firstly, being proficient in other languages opens the door to many career opportunities. Learning different languages in addition to English helps prepare students for success in the 21st Century marketplaces.
Secondly, students who study additional languages also learn skills that help them succeed academically in other subjects. They become aware of the interconnectedness of all people and are motivated to learn more about the history, geography, art, and music of the people whose languages they are learning. Thus, learning another language takes students to a new cultural horizon.
That is the reason why we at NG provide our students with the highest levels of foreign language proficiency, so that they can gain both the power and the pleasure of communicating effectively in languages other than English.
Our French Department teachers’ sole objective is to help students reach excellence by implementing a well-designed curriculum that encourages every student from KG to Grade 11 to reach his/her maximum potential.
Our coherent and age appropriate program provides students with all the necessary skills to relate and connect to the world around them.
